Studio Policies:
Registration: Registration fee is $25 and includes a t-shirt.
Class Procedure: Classes are taught with only the teacher and students in the classroom. A child must be able to enter class on their own in order to participate in the class. The students enjoy class more, focus on their teacher’s instructions, and interact with the activities more when they cannot see their parents or siblings.
Tuition: Tuition is posted to your account on the 1st of each month and due by the 15th. A late fee of $10 is added to each account after the 15th. The monthly tuition is not adjusted based on attendance. We do allow 1 make-up class per month. Feel free to come to any other class on the schedule that is your age group to make up a missed class. Be sure to let the teacher know in advance. You may also make up your missed class at our other location if it works better for you.
Payment Methods: Cash & check are accepted in the locked payment box. If you prefer to pay with a card, you will need to do so in your parent portal. $30 returned check fee.
Drop-off/Pick-up: Students may not be dropped off early or picked up late. Classes begin and end promptly at the scheduled time. It is the responsibility of the parent to watch them before and after class time. We are not responsible for children left unattended.
Snacks/Water: No gum, candy, food, or sugary drinks in class. Water bottles are permitted but not necessary unless you take multiple classes and are there for a longer time frame.
Recital Costumes: Recital costume deposits are $40 and due by Oct. 1st. The balance will be due by Jan. 31st and is $30-35 depending on the size of costume needed after measurements.
Holidays: We close for Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas break, MLK Day and spring break. We DO have class on all other school and government holidays. The days we are closed are not counted in our weeks of classes! The tuition is already pro-rated to factor in these absences.
Withdrawal: A student may withdrawal from class at any time and is not committed to the entire school year. Drop the class in your parent portal before the start of a new month to not be billed for the upcoming month.
Picture Policy: Upstate Dance & Baton may use pictures or videos taken in class for promotional publication, brochures, mailings, website, etc. Requests by parents for exclusion of their child in promotional publication of any type must be submitted in writing.
Communication: We send home notes in class, emails, and texts. If you are not getting our emails, please check your spam/junk folder. If emails are still not there, contact us to be sure we have your correct email on file. We want you to communicate with us! Please let us know if you have questions concerning class, events, deadlines, etc. We are available via email, text, or phone. We are here to serve you and want to be sure every concern you have is addressed. All messages are returned Mon – Thurs. 8am-8pm and Friday 11am-2pm. Weekend messages will be returned on Monday morning unless we have an event over the weekend that requires prompt attention.
Sickness: Any student who has been running a fever within the past 24 hours should stay home.

Our season begins the week of August 5th and ends the week of May 19th. Our end date is tentative depending on when we can have our recital. The fee may be paid monthly, per semester, or in full at the start of the year. We only close for Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas break, MLK Day, and spring break. We do not close for teacher workdays or other holidays. Holidays are already figured into the session fee. Fees are not adjusted based on attendance. Make-up class time is available.

75 minutes total per week = Monthly: $75/month Aug-May due by the 15th of each month

90 minutes total per week = Monthly: $80/month Aug-May due by the 15th of each month

$10 late fee added to any account not paid by the 15th of each month.

Baton students need their own baton. We sell them at our studios for $26 each.
Ultimately, we want each child to feel comfortable about coming to dance and confident about what she is wearing. Color and style of clothing for class is up to each student.
